This restoration project in Paddington comprised of five meters of double row pickets, a gate and letter box. The cast iron support posts were original and restored on site.
The pickets are fixed into newly cored holes in the hob. The horizontal rails have holes for the pickets to pass through and are supported by pins in the neck of the pickets. The fence, entirely assembled in situ, is technically demanding and faithful to the original heritage fencing in the area. The fencing is zinc primed and then hand painted after installation on site. The letterbox is made to fit perfectly between the two rails, rather than unsympatheticly added on later.
